Quarterly Update

I feel like this is becoming a quarterly update blog!  Since I last updated, I've been back to work for more than a month, accepted the position of Director of Records/Registrar, and recently hired my Assistant Registrar replacement.  Work has kept me so busy that I feel as if I never had the time off with the girls.  I knew this transition was coming, but it feels much more real now.  I feel so entrenched at work now---when my supervisor retires in a couple months, I'll become the only person with a lot of the knowledge that keeps the college running.  I don't really like that feeling, but it's also the reason I'm being given the position.

And in another week, I'll be traveling to Philadelphia for a conference and missing my girls.  I've never been to the Philadelphia area, so I'm open to suggestions of anything I should do or see during my time there-- though we won't have much time for sightseeing.

Most importantly, the girls are doing well!  Shelby is changing so quickly.  She smiles and laughs all the time now, and she nearly sleeps through the night.  Emma still loves being a big sister, and she looks after Shelby while they're at school.  Emma recognizes Shelby's cry, and she'll ask to go into the baby room to check on her.  I hope they'll have a good relationship as they grow older.

We've found a wonderful kid to babysit the girls.  Emma instantly loved her---a rarity for Emma--and Emma went and put Amber into "time out."  While Amber was in time out, Emma ordered her to cry.  I cannot keep from laughing at her antics sometimes.  And in another week....she'll be turning 3!  She's growing so quickly.  Looking at Shelby, it's hard to believe that it wasn't so long ago when Emma was that small...except Emma was never chubby.  Shelby has the most adorable chubby cheeks!  Love it!
