The Pit

Have I mentioned that Emma is a bottomless pit? I haven't figured out where she puts it yet--besides her diaper. At her 12 month checkup, she was 16 pounds 7 ounces, and the doctor wanted her to gain weight. So we had to start giving her Carnation Instant Breakfast--but the girl eats! At daycare, she usually has 3 servings at lunch. Now, I've seen their serving sizes, and it is pretty pathetic, but that's by Emma standards, which is all I know.

When we get home from daycare around 6pm, she gets half a frozen go-gurt, and a bunch of fruit. Then we usually get dinner ready by 7pm, and like tonight, she can eat half of my portion--though I don't eat the biggest portions--but I'll go back for 2nds and 3rds because she still wants more. And then after her bath, she chugs down a whole cup of Carnation.

At her last follow-up visit, she finally reached 18 pounds. Woohoo! As my mom says--she wouldn't have believed it if she didn't see it for herself.

A couple nights ago during her bath, she was playing her little game of throwing one of her alphabet toys out of the bath for me to fetch and throw back in. She was having a ton of fun with it, and after fetching her latest toss, I looked up to see her holding a big piece of poo (think of how much she eats) with the biggest smile and squealing laugh she could produce! Ahhh, drop it! No, she didn't throw at me, thank goodness, but we went from bathtub to sink. What a little stinker!

Funny grin! Probably similar to the poo-incident-grin.

Emma loves collecting things into her little shopping cart and strolling along--on her knees, no walking yet! Yay for me! :)

Ok, really it was time for bed, but it was the 4th of July weekend....

Enjoying the South Bend zoo on the 4th! What a gorgeous weekend!
