Spring Cleaning!

Sitting all cooped up in my office, I get to watch a couple groups having class outside my office. It makes me miss spring at St. Mary's when everything was beginning to bloom....having the occasional class outside, and being able to get outside and enjoy the weather instead of being stuck indoors until 5:00p.m. The center plaza of the college is outside my window, and they sometimes have performances there--choir, dance, and even a DJ--and it's nice to open my window to listen. I suppose enjoying that kind of thing is one reason why I ended up in college administration.

Since we've had the time change, I try to get outside to play with Emma after we get home in the evenings. I love it this weather!

Speaking of spring, that also usually means horrible allergies. It started early this year, but someone told me to have some local, pure honey every day to help clear the allergies. I found a local beekeeper and bought some pure (unprocessed) honey from him a couple weeks ago. All he does is filter the honey---wow, is it strong, sweet stuff! I've been putting a spoonful in my tea every day, and in the last week, I've completely stopped all my allergy meds. I don't know if it's really the honey--can it help that fast??---but I'm no longer draining or feeling as miserable as I had been when things started blooming a couple weeks ago. And I think the tree pollen is still going strong. Hmm...we'll see if I continue to be allergy free over the next couple months, and especially in the fall. It's definitely worthwhile trying the pure honey.

A couple weeks ago, I did some spring cleaning in Emma's room---it was time to remove her changing table and diaper pail from her room. She's getting to be such a big girl!

Before or actually in the middle of organizing:

And after....It looks so bare, now. I really need to get something up on her walls. I can't believe she's almost two and I have yet to really decorate in her room. I'd welcome any advice, because that's not my strong suit! We didn't even get her room painted until after she arrived since she came early.

Speaking of the little miss, I have a few pictures, although again I haven't been taking a lot of pictures lately.

Playing outside with her ball!

So far no ear infections in March! We've seen a huge improvement in her speech since she got the tubes in her ears. I'm thrilled that we decided to do the procedure. I hope everyone has the chance to get outside and enjoy this weather! Is it really only March?? :)

  1. Carol- I am glad the honey is working for you! The honey is suppose to be great- especially with kids because they are too little for the cold medicines. I am glad you all are able to enjoy this beautiful spring weather we are having:)
Target has some great wall decals (found in the girls bedding section)- I bought polka dots in keira's room at our old house. They came off very easily! Etsy also has some great prints and wall decals as well. I have also lucked out with free printables. Type that in your google browser, print and then frame- cheap art!

    Love the color you choose!
